Position, Linear, Rotary & Tilt
Sensors & Potentiometer supplies from Positek. PIPS® technology combines the best in fundamental inductive principles with advanced micro electronic integrated circuit technology. The transducers are non-contact and therefore, unlike a potentiometer, the sensing element does not wear out. They have major advantages over LVDTs and other similar non-contact sensors. They are more compact, more accurate, robust and, with fully integrated electronics, are easier to use. The technology can be applied to linear and rotary motion sensing. |

| Linear Sensors | The sensors provide a linear output
characteristic with displacement which can be proportional to the supply
voltage. Its DC analogue output signal represents absolute position and
is available immediately on power up. The sensors have major advantages over LVDT's and other similar sensors. They are more compact, more accurate, robust and need no special sensitive magnetic components or magnets which attract debris. The micro electronic interface which produces the output signal is combined into a single custom ASIC with the minimum of additional surface mount components. The interface, which has a high level of EMC protection built in, needs a DC supply and a range of electrical I/O options are available to suit customer requirements The sensors use Positek's novel inductive PIPS® technology, that combines the best in fundamental inductive principles with advanced micro electronic integrated circuit technology.

Rotary & Tilt Sensors |
The sensors
provide an output signal that is proportional to rotation. The sensors
have a very fast start up from powSler on and provide an almost
instantaneous signal. These rotary and tilt sensors provide an accuracy and life that is not readily available from competing technologies such as potentiometers and Hall Effect devices. Positek sensors provide a complete 'DC in DC out' package using Positek’s patented custom ASIC and surface mount technology.
